As a probiotic expert and pet specialist I purposefully added FOS to my formula. This makes it a symbiotic formula and thus very effective. I never recommend FOS alone, that would like to fertilize a patch of dirt and never planting grass seeds. ______________________________________________ Why choose plant-based enzymes rather than Pancreatic? Total-Zymes® is a plant-based enzymes formula. Watch out for enzymes from dead slaughterhouse animals. Check your labels Pancreatic enzymes are from slaughter house cadavers, from both pigs and cows. _______________________________________________ Pancreatic enzymes may cause these possible side effects: Warning label on an actual pancreatic enzyme product: High doses may cause diarrhea, cramping, or vomiting. If you observe any of these reactions, contact your veterinarian immediately. If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately. Precautions Do not use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to pork products. The powder may irritate or burn the skin on contact. Wash immediately if you get any on your skin or your pet’s skin. Wash hands after handling this medication. Is this something you would give your pet? ______________________________________________ Total-Biotics® has Lactococcus lactis. Is that dairy fermented milk? Is it not good for dogs with a milk allergy? L-Lactis is named for the lactic acid it produces and not for lactose which is a milk sugar. Lactococcus lactis can be grown on milk or vegetable growing medium. But either way there is absolutely no milk or dairy remaining after the probiotic is harvested. It is not only safe for pets with a milk allergy, but it is recommended to help prevent dairy digestive issues. An example is: Mushrooms are grown on cow manure, yet when harvested there is no cow manure on the mushrooms when we eat them. Just because a bacteria might be grown on dairy does not mean that there is dairy in the final product. ______________________________________________ Why are there some minerals in your pet formulas? I am the formulator of Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®. The small amount of high-quality chelated minerals in my formula do not contribute any minerals to your pets diet. The minerals are there to activate the enzymes so they can do their job without taking away any minerals from your pets’ system. After the enzymes have done their job there are no minerals left, they have been used up in the catalytic enzyme activity. ______________________________________________ How much do I give my pet and does the Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics® powder have a flavor? The powders have no flavor but some pets can be very picky. One scoop (approximately 625 mg) of Total-Zymes® or Total-Biotics® per cup of pet food at each feeding. A free scoop is inside every jar of both Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®. Put the amount of food to be fed for the entire day in a container with a snap on lid. Add one scoop of each formula for each cup of food. You can add the enzymes to the entire days’ worth of kibble all at one time and then feed out of that container for all the meals that day. You can add Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®, if you wish, only to the kibble, but then add enough of both formulas to cover other foods such as canned or roll food that will be added to the dish that day.Keep in mind that the scoop in the jar, level, treats an entire cup of food. So that means an 8 pound cat or dog would only need ¾ of a scoop of each powder per day if you were feeding a six ounce can of food or 4/5 of a cup of dry. If you feed twice a day then that ¾ scooped needs to be halved. That’s a very tiny amount (but very effective) if you mix it into the food well, the flavor of the food should overpower the taste of the powders which is very bland. The best time to give it to your pet is right with the food. If you are feeding raw food you can cut the Total-Zymes® down a bit but I recommend doubling the Total-Biotics® as the raw food can contain some harmful bacteria. ______________________________________________ Is Total-Biotics® just for sick pets? No, this is the most powerful high colony forming formula in the world supplying 1.6 Billion CFUs of 14 different strains of good guy bacteria matched to each cup of food consumed. Pets that are convalescing definitely will benefit greatly from this product, and it is essential that all pets have a daily supplement of pro-biotics to build their susceptible immune systems ______________________________________________ Can I give Total-Biotics® to my new puppies? This formula is safe for most pets. For puppies, as soon as they are eating kibble or canned food the full dose is recommended. Hand feeding newly weaned puppies with baby cereal use half the recommended dose until they start kibble. ______________________________________________ Is it necessary to refrigerate Total-Biotics®? ______________________________________________ Is Human Grade better for my pet? ______________________________________________ Why does my pet’s stool get smaller with enzymes? A dog or cats digestive system is designed to process only raw food, primarily meat. In the wild no dog or cat would Bar-B-Que their food. Cats and dogs digestive systems are short and food eaten should have a relatively short transit time. Raw food contains all the enzymes needed to digest itself, thus it digests quickly and completely resulting in a small stool. Kibble, canned or other cooked food is lacking the enzymes to digest quickly or completely. When Total-Zymes® is added to cooked food the food is properly digested quickly and efficiently resulting in smaller stools and better health. ______________________________________________ Always talk to your vet before giving any supplement to your pets. |
