Synergy between Astaxanthin & Omega-3s
AstaReal® Astaxanthin is a powerhouse antioxidant from the algae, Haematococcus pluvialis, that is 6000 times stronger than Vitamin C and 110 times stronger than Vitamin E.
Krill oil is extracted from the small shrimp-like crustacean, Euphasia superba, as a source of the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. The omega-3s in krill oil are emulsified by phospholipids, such as phosphatidylcholine, which may improve their absorption.
In nature, krill ingest small quantities of astaxanthin, which helps protect EPA and DHA from oxidation. Common krill oil supplements contain 250-500 micrograms of astaxanthin – less than a tenth of the daily 6 mg dose shown in clinical studies to impart health benefits.
