Roadtrip essentials for your pet

Plan Ahead

Before leaving for your trip make an appointment at your local veterinarian’s office to get your pet microchipped. Then shower your pet with a little extra bling by attaching an ID tag with your cell phone number to their collar. It’s hard to think about the possibility of losing your pet but these two small things will give you big peace of mind!

Map it out

Go Pet Friendly is a great resource to find hotels, parks, and more that will welcome your pet. Visit their homepage and click “Road Trip Planner” to map out your trip from start to finish with pet friendly stops along the way.

Pack Accordingly

Pack a spill-proof water bowl, your pet’s regular food (now is not a good time to make changes), any medications, and supplements including Total-Biotics® and Oxy-Ph Boost™ to protect your pet’s immune system against the stress of traveling.

Practice makes perfect

Get your pet geared up for a long trip by taking him on a series of short drives first, then gradually lengthening time spent in the car. Depending on your pet you may want to think about keeping him safe and secure in a well-ventilated crate or carrier. Get your pet used to the carrier in the comfort of your home before taking your trip.
